It has 30,000 species of plants and has the world’s richest floral zone on earth in terms of species to area. An amazing 69% of those 30,000 species are found nowhere else on earth!

To put this into perspective, the British Isles, which is three and a half times larger, have only 1,500 plants, and fewer than 20 of these plants, are found only there.
